Middle East or Western Countries

Published

Hi! I've been working here in Qatar as a staff nurse. I have two kids. I'm wondering if I should leave my work here and take my chances on working in another country like US, Canada, New Zealand, or Australia?

Where can I earn and save more? Which place will be good for my family?

Some said here in the Middle east, though the salary is not as high in US or Canada, nurses can earn and save more. Some said if I'll work in the US I need to get a double job to compensate the needs of my family.

My situation here is that the cost of living here in Qatar is high. We are renting a room and a common kitchen and bathroom but it already cost us 850 USD. If we will rent a single flat it will cost us double. Groceries are expensive as well because all are imported from different countries. Education for my kids is not free. The annual school fee ranges from 1900USD-2700USD (Philippine school) international school cost much higher, about trice.

Health Care is cheap though.

My total monthly salary is 3900USD. but we dont have tax here.

I need your advice whether I should leave or not. If I will leave, which state or country is safe and has a good salary and compensation for my family.

Thank you so much!

Each country has their own requirements in both immigration and nursing. Can also be an expensive option. The US at the moment has anything from months to years wait for a immigrant visa depending on where you was born.

Thank you Silverdragon102 for your response. I could also hear from someone who had worked in middle east and other country or states. I'm really confused.
