Mid America Nazarene ABSN - What is the class schedule like??

Published

I am looking into MNU and UMKC ABSN programs! I know UMKC has a sample plan of what their accelerated program looks like! Does anyone from MNU have a sample/example of what their schedule was like during the 12 month accelerated program?

Thanks!

I'm finishing the ABSN for MNU next month. The schedule is different each module, but is heavy on class time at the beginning, and filters in clinical time later in the year. Classes start M-F, and can be anywhere from 8-5 pm. What are your concerns about schedule?

My brother is a nurse and he went to UMKC. I can tell you that UMKC is fairly punitive base from what I've heard-- they seem to pass the blame of their NCLEX pass rates downhill and you can fail out of the nursing program for more reasons than at MNU. That being said, they have twice as many clinical hours in their program, but their program takes more than twice as long to complete.

I know during the 12 month program at MNU I would not be able to work. I was a bit concerned if the program was 12 months straight with no breaks, or if there is a thanksgiving/winter break etc.? These would be opportunities to get in some work at my current job! Also, how much studying did you do daily? Was it class all day and study most of the evening?
