Ocean County College has just announced a totally online Microbiology course. It will be great not having to go to class. Traffic is a real problem in Ocean County heading north in the morning.

Has anyone taken one of their other online science pre-req courses such as A&P I or II? I understand they send a little laboratory box to your house with a microscope. Is it difficult to do?
Thanks

Hey Jersey Nursing Girl,
I've read a lot of good reviews about OCC's online courses and am seriously considering taking them. I was wondering...did you apply for any financial aid? And if so, did it cover a good portion of the tuition cost? I would love to take the BIO classes with OCC but don't think I can afford about $1400 out of my own pocket w/o any assistance from financial aid. I'm from Northern California.
Thank you!

Hey! I'm from Texas, but I just wanted to ask you if you knew whether or not most nursing schools "look down" on online classes for science prerequesites. I'm planning on taking a lot of my non-science prereqs online, but I felt like I should take the science ones in person. Have you heard anything about this either way? Thanks, and good luck!

We're in nursing 2 and 3 and we all took a&p 1, a&p2, microbio, and nutrition online - we all loved it.

shepherdgirl - I have taken ALL my pre-reqs online through ccconline, including Micro, AP, etc. The ones I have taken are guaranteed transfer courses and the state universities in CO have no problem taking them. They don't even show up on my transcripts as being any different than traditional classes.
