Tidi, thats what I ended up doing & I'm in NJ. It would have cost me 900. so I took EC's on 7/3 after a couple of all nighters & passed. I believe my only problem will be if the school I choose to get my bsn requires the lab, but so far I'm looking at EC & Thomas Jefferson State & neither requires it.
Yea, and I guess we can cross that bridge when we come to it.
I have all my textbooks for Micro and I'm starting the studying tonight. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated :) I plan to test by mid august.
Also..have you taken any other EC exams? I was just researching the texts that are required and I have a lot of them, but in many cases one edition before they are asking. IE: I have the 5th edition of fundamentals of nursing, while they are requiring the 6th edition. Do you think it matters much? I may just have to peek in Barnes and Noble and see if theres much of a difference in the texts...
Good luck to you & Congrats!!! on passing that Micro.
Thank you! I graduate 8/20 from EC. I plan to take the nclex in the beginning of Aug. Your on the right track by getting the recommended textbook. I used the 8th ed of Tortora with the study guide that I had from my community college days, & I purchased Ec's practice exam which I highly recommend. I found the exam easier than the practice exams so they truly prepare you. I didn't use many texts since I'm a new lpn & still had those books for reference, but the ones I did purchase were always older editions & I passed exams with no problem. I also used sg101 for all of my exams as well. Just make sure your studying covers EC content guides. Good luck and happy studying!

Hi All,
I would like to take an online microbiology course but my school requires that the course include a lab component. I am considering the course at Edukan and have submitted the syllabus to my school for review. My school did not seem all that receptive to the virtual lab component, but I haven't received an answer back from them yet.
I remember reading a post about an online microbiology course that requires students to participate in a proctored hands-on lab. Now, I can't find that post and wondered if anyone knows which school offers a three hour hands-on proctored lab experience in addition to the virtual lab included with the course.
Thanks!
