Microbiology and Nutrition classes...

Did you guys find Micro and nutrition hard courses? I had a friend last semester taking nutrition, and she constantly said how hard it was. Her whole class' average was like a 70%. I am taking both of these classes in the fall, and I am so worried about it. My gpa right now is 2.483, and I have to have 2.5 to get accepted. My problem is that I really messed up about 10 years ago when I was in college before, now I am really paying for it! I am so determined this time though, I know I will get thru it. Right????(haha):roll

I am taking my classes on Tues. & Thurs. and 1 class on Wed. night. The 2 lil ones will be going to a daycare on those 2 days and I will be done in time enough to pick up my oldest from school.

So your almost done with your pre-reqs? wow! I am JUST starting in the fall. From scratch. A&P will be my hardest class.

Yes we will make it!

Here's a pic of me . my 3 boys and my hubby :-)

Yes, I am almost done. When I returned last semester, I had 80+ hours from like 10 years ago. So I only needed chem, micro, nutrition, a&p. I think that's it! But now I have to wait to apply to the nursing dept. until I am in my last semester of prereq's, which is hard, because if I don't get in, I will have to sit out until I do. And I don't really want to do that!:roll

ok here goes again..... maybe this pic will be the right size :-)

wow thats alot of hours you already had from back then. I just like attending 1 semester and dropped out.....decided having a good time was waaaaay more fun hehehe.

Yeah, it's great that I am almost done, but that darn gpa! Maybe I will take alot of PE classes, and raise it! Your kids are very handsome. If I can get my camera to work, I will try to post a pic of mine.

at my community college PE is waived cause I'm over 25! How have your grades been since you went back? After I take all my classes at my local cc than I will have to attend 1 semester at Baylor Univ. to get some pre-reqs I need for Baylors Nursing school that my local cc does'nt offer..like religion, nutrition and a couple others.

Well, I got a C in chem and B in medical terminology. So they are OK. I never had chem in high school, so I was pleased with a C!

Ashemson, Microbiology started out as a hard class for me. Now, I am not trying to scare you but read till the end and you will see why I post this. AT mid-terms in Microbiology I had a D. I was so upset I went to the teacher and he told me that I might want to consider dropping. Hah, drop micro, no way. I had already dropped other classes in the past I did not want to drop anymore. Well, I devised a study plan, found a study partner who was just as serious as I was and studied my rear end off. By the end of the semester I pulled it up to a high B. I got A's on all the rest of the tests, quizzes and other assignments we had. It is all about determination. See, I find with me personally If I say I can do something and set my mind to it and say it every day I can do this, I can do this, I can do this then yes I can do it and I do really well. Yet, If I tell myself I can't do this or If I worry about it then I don't do so great.

You say you are determined this time. That is great so you know you can do this. Keep telling yourself that.

As far as nutrition that was the easiest A I ever made. I was already so much into nutrition to begin with. Even for those who was not into nutrition it was still easy. Don't get me wrong you still have to study but if you study then you will do good.

What helped me in both microbiology and nutrition was flash cards and LOTS of them.

Good luck.

OK, I am losing it. I was trying to post a picture of the girls, but I posted it to the wrong conversation! If you want to look under "textbooks", they are there! Man, what a day!!!

I went to textbooks to see the pic of your girls ans they are beautiful..and your middle girl WOW!

I have always a wanted a little girl but just recently decided that I will have no more babies and with my 3 boys the odds are very good that I will one day have a grand daughter :-)

We are very Blessed and NEVER Bored!

Ash, even though I am only starting LPN this Aug. I have already taken Micro at my local college. You didn't mention if you have to take the micro lab. I found this to be a fun class. I have decided Micro is there to teach us to.....wash, wash, wash, wash, wash our hands all the time. Trust me, if I can pass this class, I know you can! Debbielynn
