Anyone take micro online through Rio? I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect and how hard it might be. I'm currently in block 2 of nursing and will start micro on March 28th. What to expect?

My husband is in the Army so we haven't traveled quite a bit and I have done a lot of online schooling. I took Micro online through a CC in the midst of moving here last summer. I am not going to lie - it was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken! My husband is a PhD microbiology student, and even he said it was a "good online class." Science isn't my strong suit - it doesn't come easy for me (writing, and other medical stuff I cling to - detailed science, not so much). I can't speak for Rio - but if it is anything like the Rio Chemistry (which I also think is not that simple!) then I think it'll be plenty of work for ya. My online micro didn't have any proctored exams - they were all open book. I don't know if Rio has that option, but if so, it is def a nice option to have! GL!
Yea we have just the midterm and final are proctored exams [emoji51] I love science but this will be the first online science course for me. I have taken lots of classes online and enjoy the teach myself method but I guess I'll just have to see. Thank you [emoji4]

I took Micro through RIO in the summer of 2015. The teaching style the professor had was not what I was used to. I used quizlet a lot and it helped soon much!! I got an A in the course. The midterm and finals are similar questions to the quizzes you have so I would study those. Also, pay close attention to the objectives. You are only required to answer a few for assignments but my advice would be to answer all of them and study those before exams as well. Best of luck! let me know how it goes!! :)
Thank you so much! That helps to know all that. I have heard a ton of negative so hearing you got an A is awesome! Did you have many essays to write?
I think I only had to write one "essay". Depending on which instructor you get, I did have to answer my objectives in an essay format but they were a couple of paragraphs long at the most.
