micro before anatomy/physio?

is it crazy to take microbiology before you take Anatomy/Physiology? At my school the only pre req for micro is general bio..but it seems that most people take their anatomy first? Is it doable the other way around?

My school didn't have any preference in what order they were taken. I took A&P first, but mostly just because I thought it would be the most interesting. I took Micro the following semester...actually enjoyed the content much more than A&P.

No, not at all. I took Micro before A&P and didn't find it at all difficult. The two subjects are just so different that you don't really need a foundation in one in order to do well in the other.

My school suggests at least Intro to Bio and Chem for Healthcare Students prior to Micro. However, Chem is just recommended, not required. The pre-nursing order is this:

Semester 1: Anatomy (4units), Chemistry (4units)

Semester 2: Microbiology (5units)

Semester 3: Physiology (4units)

At my school physiology is the most difficult class to pass. That may be somewhat attributed to the instructor, who teaches all 5 sections available and is said to teach at the graduate level. I don't know why, since this is a community college! Many hopeful nursing students here take the Physio requirement at a college 20 miles away just so they don't have to risk it here.

Needless to say, I'm a little worried as I have to take it next semester. Ugh.

I agree....I was thinking how are they related at all?? They're not.

me too, i don't see why taking one before the other would matter..............

In my school, We had to take anatomy 1 and 2 before we were allowed to take micro. I am in micro right now, and I can say that for me, I am glad that I took anatomy first. It made me more familliar with the ins and outs of the body, and made me understand the concepts of micro a little better.
