This is probably like comparing apples and oranges, but I would like to know what you thought was more difficult--microbiology/A&P or your nursing classes. Just out of curiosity.

Definitely micro/A&P... I thought the nursing courses were great... what was I thinking??
I guess I was so enthused about nursing when I was in school and I WANTED to learn it all... Micro lab was a blast... I enjoyed A&P lab too... but HATED both the lectures. Maybe that's why it was harder.

hello dianacs. I just finished all the nursing prereq's, and feel it will be easier once in the nursing program, even though I haven't actually started the program. The reason I say this is because, from what I have seen on line at nursing school sites, what we learned in A&P and Micro....we now get to apply. So no more cold memorization, which can melt your face off if you don't know Latin :-(
The science prereq's are one thing, and applying that knowledge is another. I think apppling is easier/will be easier.
Then again, clostridium difficale (C-diff) is another story, and I still don't know how I will react to a high risk environment. Got admitt, it's exciting :-)

I enjoyed both Micro and A &P, but I found my Micro course quite difficult --probably because I was a LPN already and could not directly apply so much of the info to my field. A & P was easier to apply--nursing courses easiest of all due to my background.:)

A clinical instructor once told me that there was a relationship between micro/AP and pass fail rates on boards. The higher the grade the greater the likelyhood of passing. I wonder if that is still true.

If that's true, then I am one happy camper. A&P was pretty challenging, but micro is so much easier for me. But, it could be the different schools. Got two As in A&P, so far I have an A in micro!
