"prohibiting mandatory overtime and establishing nurse-to-patient ratios will begin the steps to a healthy work environment, in which nurses will want to stay at the bedside and perform the most critical component to healthcare: nursing!"

That looks good.

I'm waiting to hear from ANA

Specializes in Vents, Telemetry, Home Care, Home infusion.

pa also has legislation introduced hb 171 ...... will be buried in committee as opposed by hospital group hap. we were lucky to get pa midwives prescriptive authority last year.....2/3 state very conservative.

Specializes in ER, ICU, Administration (briefly).

The Michigan bill sounds like it is modeled on the Massacheusetts bill.

BTW, the Massacheusetts nurses association website is wonderful.

Michigan is going to have a tough time with this, as they do with prescriptive authority for NP's.

They have several key legislators well in the pocket of both the Michigan Medica Society and the Michigan Hospital Association.

These districts should be targeted.
