Any hospitals offer tuition re-payment ?

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking into pursuing a second Bachelor Degree in nursing. I'm so worried about getting further into debt with student loans. I was wondering if there are any hospitals in the Detroit or surrounding area that offer repayment of your tuition once you begin working as a nurse. Do any hospitals actually pay for your schooling in exchange for your employment? Or are there any other programs out there I could look into? I'm just trying to figure out a way to afford going back to school and paying loans once I graduate. I would greatly appreciate any info.

Thanks,

Heather

I dont know about repayment, but there are employers that will pay you a sign on bonus, depending on the term of commitment. You can pay your debt from that.

I currently work in a hospital that provides a wonderful scholarship program that will pay tuition and fees. In return, you owe them six months per scholarship awarded. Not too shabby!

Sounds great. Which hospital do you work for?

Specializes in ACNP-BC, Adult Critical Care, Cardiology.

I work at a Detroit area hospital and they just recently came out with a new program that allows employees enrolled in nursing programs to be awarded scholarship funds in exchange for a 3-year employment commitment. The program is only available to current hospital employees.

For those enrolled in an ADN program the hospital will provide $8,000 worth of funds toward completion of this type of nursing program. For BSN or BSN completion, they award $14,000. For MSN, it is also $14,000. Again, this program is only for current employees who work at least 20 hours per pay period.

Are you able to work in a hospital in any capacity with your BS degree? PM me if you want to know which hospital this is.
