Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

Where in school do u call to make sure they got the background check?
they send an email. I actually just got my email comfirming the recieved my background check. It says to go pick it up the copy so you can upload it to the databank web. The cpr class did anyone make an appointment yet?

I didn't make an appointment yet but I will soon I should have everything done by next week

I had July 6/7 dates and was in a similar situation with a planned vacation. I went to the program head who told me to email the department head for authorization to go to the July 15/16 dates. You can try calling your program coordinator who is listed on the bottom of your admissions link website. Good luck!

It seems like a lot of ppl in the bridge and accelerated programs are getting there notices first. Anyone from the generic ?

The deadline was May 1st for the fall entry. Sept 1st for spring.

Congrats I put homestead as my 1st choice as well. Generic fulltime. but don't you have to have something in the medical field in order to apply for the accelerated?

I applied for homestead too but nothing yet. I was told there isn't many seats for homestead and I will have the option for medical if I get in. Do you know how many seats?

How to get the W removed?!? I have a cum gpa 4.0 and a W on a science class! Now I'm freaking out

Im with you because it says they accept W's as long as its not a lot. I hope this is not the case.

With a GPA of 4.0 you shouldn't worry. They permit only two W and one F on the science.

I don't have a 4.0 but close to it in my sciences. but a w in anatomy class and lab followed by an A in both

Trust me you are fine bc i have a W too and my advisor told me make sure you get and A and you are fine
