Hi "amoLucia,"
Thank you for your replies, and sorry for the lateness on this one.
The question related back to the 12 determinants of health (Canada) and how each one or all lumped in, would affect a homeless person, or someone with an addiction. Example - which ones deal with anxiety provoking situations? (poverty, poor housing etc.,) would bring on anxiety, etc.
Which ones deal with things out of our control? (culture...what does this mean?...potential discrimination, difficulty practicing your beliefs - very well documented lately in the U.S. and Canada).
Not sure I figured it all out, but I sent it in, and now waiting on the (scary) end mark.

Hi all,
I am a new nurse, and I am currently undertaking "Nursing Mental health."
I have been racking my noodle on some of the assignments lately and the following question isn't an exception. I don't want my homework done for me, just need a kick in the butt to get me started - help?
"How would you normally assess a person to identify a mental illness? We may not have the luxury of sitting down with a homeless person or a young person, yet there are many ways that you can assess the person through observation, other resources (with permission) and questions….i.e. difficulty in school."
