I applied to MGH as a new graduate with a lot of critical experience and all my certs (like ACLS, CPR, PALS ) done and I was told that without a BSN I am not welcome to work there. I already have a BSN in a medical filed but that is not good enough. I think that MGH is a little high on their horse for a hospital that has ER overcrowding and in some parts a horrible building structure.

MGH just added a posting on their HR website detailing their exact hiring requirements for new grads. I was unable to copy a valid link, but if you go to http://www.massgeneral.org/jobs, click on "find a job at MGH" and search under "nursing," the posting will be there (for a few weeks at least). If the posting is gone by the time you read this, here's the post itself in its entirety:

We take great pride in the number of new graduates we can hire, orient, and train for units throughout the hospital each year. On average we hire between 100-200 new graduates annually! New graduates receive a very comprehensive, individualized, precepted training that lasts anywhere from eight to twelve weeks. New graduates work with a preceptor, Nurse Manager, and Unit-based Clinical Nurse Specialist to determine a comfortable, yet challenging, pace.
As a magnet-status hospital respected throughout the world for it's exceptional patient care, high quality education, and cutting edge research, many new graduates are interested in working at MGH. The process is competitive, so it is important that you read the instructions regarding the new graduate RN application process.
While our commitment to new graduates is very strong, we are only able to interview and hire a select number this year. A member of our recruitment team will be reviewing your application. If there is a position available that could be a potential match for your skills and area of interest, you will be contacted for an interview. If you are not invited for an interview, your resume will be kept on file for future consideration when more positions become available. We wish you the best in your continued job search.

Sounds like you might be a little upset that MGH didn't hire you. After all, why apply there if you think they are elitist, have poor facilities, and overcrowding?
Additionally, requiring a BSN is not a random, elitist requirement. Studies have found that patients have better outcomes when being taken care of by BSN prepared nurses. Is that elitist? Or just good care?
Finally, it may be semantics, but you can't have a BSN in another medical field - it is inherently a nursing degree.
