MGH IHP ABSN January 2018 Cohort

Published

Hi everyone -

Is anyone else applying for the MGH IHP ABSN January 2018 cohort?

If so, care to stress out with me? :)

Accepted (Yay!). But now I am so confused. I went through hell to get CAS everything as I attended a number of schools for my other degrees and pre-reqs. And now the email from MGH says that they need official transcripts from all schools attended and degree verification. What the heck?! I thought CAS did that!

I was confused about that too! I plan on asking at the open house this saturday.

this is like totally not important but does anyone know if absn students have a white coat ceremony? I know a lot of bsn programs are doing that now so i was curious

Did a little research and find this

Now I am totally confused...

Hi! MGH IHP ABSN alumna here

I just finished the program. No, the BSN students don't have a white coat ceremony. The NP students do!

and if anyone has questions, feel free to PM me or ask here.

Hi! I took you up on your offer and sent you a message!! :)

hi @jessica1993, I sent you a fb message like you suggested! :) thanks for offering to answer questions :)!

Hi, all! Just found this feed, so I am late to this party. Did your decisions come directly from MGH email, or through NursingCAS? I received nothing last week when you all reported that you received your decisions, but was notified today that I am on a waitlist. Just curious how you were notified. Seems odd that mine came late. Thanks, and congrats to everyone!

Did you request transcripts from all of the schools that you attended? If I remember correctly, on NursingCAS there was a sheet for each school that I printed out and faxed requesting my official transcripts be sent to NursingCAS. That was in addition to manually adding each course into the system.

Kastio - It is odd that you didn't hear from them until today. I thought they sent out all of the decision e-mails at once! Congrats on the waitlist! I hope you get a spot. :)

Did anyone get accepted into this program with a 3.0/3.1 GPA? I'm wondering if I should apply. I've heard this program is really hard to get into. However, I did recently graduate from UCONN with a Biology degree, so I don't know if they'll take that into account when looking at my lower gpa.

It will not if you try. Just do it.
