Hi! For those interested, just this morning I heard from a newly hired staff nurse in Metropolitan Medical Center that the hospital is currently hiring staff nurses. Sadly, I can't apply there for personal reasons.

Do any of you know other hospitals there in Manila or QC that are also currently hiring staff nurses without undergoing months of volunteer training prior to employment? Kindly inform me please. :nurse:

By the way, my informant said the give preference to chinese applicants.

for the hr, just bsic stuffs, like family background, educational background. for the final, it depends..experience, sometimes, technical stuffs..like pathophysiology/NCP

@fissure ow thanks! Anyway, are you currently a trainee at MMC? Because you really know a lot..This is my last question for today, thanks :)

no problem. ask anything you like, im happy to answer it. nope, but i was on the september batch though. i stopped on the 4th day of the training. btw, training is just for a month, then they'll hire you..and oh btw, it's only contractual. 6 months, then renew contract, but its not that you have to stop every after end of contract period. its just the way it is because you'll be under an outsource agency. :)

UPDATE! And so we had 5 sets of exams and from 22 applicants, only 7 of us were left. We were then initially interviewed by the HR then followed by another interview by the "selection board?" but it was just also another HR staff and I kinda feel like that 2nd interview has this "unprofessional" feel to it. You're right @fissure, we were offered to be in other dept and accdg. to her, it would still take about 6-8 mos before we can become nurses and I just go for it. The final thing she told us applicants is that they will just text us if we will be hired and IF NOT, then we have to re-apply after 6 months. Were you also told the same thing?? I asked all other applicants who were with me a while ago and we were told the same thing by the HR. Should I not put my hopes about this anymore? HELLLP!!

naaah, according to the chief nurse, if they are understaffed, they will hire you even if you are not from o=another departments. i mean, its not 608months, it really depends on their demand for nurses. but then again, since my batchmates started just a few months ago, i dont think they have a schedule for another training.

Another thing I don't understand is why do they have an agency? and the HR told me that if I become a nurse, I will be under agency and not as regular staff? I think the ones they regularize are only those with backers working inside the hospital :(

outsource? it's common in some institutions. its a 5-6months contract, renewable. no, it will take you years to be regularized there.

@fissure @bluesparklerini Hi I want to ask if MMC still open for training? And how long will be the training? And is it for free? What requirements do I need to bring and where to pass them? I'm really interested to apply in this hospital since its near my place. Sorry for asking so many questions. Thank you in advance. ?

Me too I am interested! hihi i feel like some of you saw me on the other thread :) Well I am really really on a hospital-hunting mode. I really want to to put my knowledge and skills into practice :( .

@viv and @ace, i think we've talked about it in this thread..your queries, i mean. you can back read. :)

@fissure Yup I did a back read :) Mmm but I think I didn't read any conversation about the training fee if there is any? hehe I want to know if it's free or need to pay. :)

Heheh! i just wanna share what I know, there is NO training fee, they won't pay you and you will not pay them either for a month of training. After 1 month, you will be evaluated, then if your

performance is good, you will be a contractual employee for 6 mos and accdg to @fissure, once contract is expired, you can renew it but it will take years for you to be regularized..
