metro tech students

Published

Hi ,

some of u may know me from other forums, i started this tread for metro tech students to talk to each other about their experience in the school. I am thinking of applying for summer quarter and would love to hear from all of you.

So feel free to post

Hello everyone. I am new to the forum, but I am finding it to be a wealth of information.

I, too, am thinking of attending NMT. I understand that at this point the LPN program is only provisionally approved, not fully approved, by the Georgia Board of Examiners. Does anyone know how this will affect accreditation if I graduate before full approval? Or how long does it take for them to obtain full approval (i.e., would this be a moot point in the next year or so)? Specifically, I want to eventually pursue an LPN-RN bridge program, and I want to be sure the LPN program would be viewed as an accredited program.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

I am currently in North Metros nursing program....... As far as the accrditation goes they should be SACS accreditated real soon but really that has nothing to do with you being able to bridge. When you bridge you just have to have your LPN license and once you graduate from North Metro you are able to sit for the NCLEX-PN test. Georgia Highlands is working on having a bridge there at North Metro in the near future which is where i'm planning on bridging to. However I have been told they have a hold on opening anymore Ga nursing schools right now so if that doesn't go through then I would just have to drive to Ga Highlands Rome or Cartersville campus.

Now as for the program goes I love it and all my teachers are very great! I like North Metro a lot more than Chattahoochee which is where I went for my pre-req's..................

hey again joe

and hello VRGirl

its nice to hear from you. your confidence in the program and school has totally change my mind on chattahochee. i will be going to NMT open house to learn more about the school from them. but i hope al is will with you

ttyl:cool:

L&D, when is the open house? I would definitely be interested in attending.

Joebird, thanks for the input. I guess I also wonder about getting a job as an LPN while going to school for the LPN to RN bridge. Would I be able to get a job as an LPN if they (NMT) only has provisional approval?

As long as your able to sit for the NCLEX exam and get your license they will never look at what school you attended. I haven't heard anybody not being able to work as an LPN while bridging and I plan on doing the same. After I get the Associate RN i'm bridging to Kennesaw to get my Bachelors and then it's off to NP or PA school........so I have a long road ahead of me lol.......

Thanks for the info and good luck to you!

Its a school open house. Its APR 22, from 530 pm to 730 pm.

check the web site. maybe i'll see ya there.

Thanks L&D! Hope to see you there!

VR when do u plan on attending NMT. i will start either this summer or in the fall?
