Hello all,
Just wanted to start a page for those of us that will be attending/starting Mesa Community College 2016 Block 1 nursing.
I thought we could share questions, thoughts and helpful hints to make the process somewhat less confusing.
This is primarily for those of us attending Mesa CC Afternoon program 2016. I know all the schools have different criteria, and events and what not so this is not to keep others from sharing all are welcomed but for my own insanity I am trying to get a really good GRASP on what is pertaining to my school and time frame. So if you veterans have guidance, please feel free to share.
Also, if you have a specific topic, in your process make sure and add and "Title" so we can easily reference "Your" discussion.
We may as well start paying attention to detail, because it is going to become a way of life from here on out.
And remember, "every new day is a bonus."
Which Picmonic are you using or would you recommend for block 1 nursing studentsNever mind got it!
Thanks for sharing this.
Awesome. I am a very visual learner.
Yes, there are so many of them to look over! You can set up a "pathways" also for your learning needs. I just bounce around to what Im reviewing and it helps that way. Check out the nursing process, assessments; vitals signs, 6 rights for med admin, 5 delegation rights.. These are good to know and become familiar with and simple enough to review with Picmonics! Good Luck
So it begins...
Wow!
Week 1 over and I am EXCITED to say the least, and yet there is a slight underlying fear.
Fear may be too strong of a word, perhaps slight trepidation as to what I have embarked upon.
With years under my belt, I have a lot to achieve and there are going to be some peaks and valleys.
We appear to have a GREAT group of noobs with sparkling eyes and high aspirations and goals. Gives me hope for the future and I look forward to working and learning with them.
Still, I worry about my not so strong areas. I hope I can find solace in a good team to work with and learn.
Let's make this block a GREAT one!
Week 2, @, two, tu, to, too...
Huh? Not sure where my head is? Stated nursing diagnosis and plans this week. Thought I had it down in the morning, after lunch, lost it.
I think I need to rethink my eating habits and tweak them just a bit.
The afternoon that I lost all of my brain matter I had a very light lunch. And when we hit lab and started working on Care plans my brain wasn't functioning and I was all over the place.
Live an learn. Everything about school is a process. Family, life, eating, physiological, emotional, etc. Broke a crown on lab day and that threw me off. It is stuff like that that really distracts me.
Studying at home the dogs bark and, bam! I start reading over and over and over.
We have our first exam in a week. Haven't a clue, but I always tend to be like this till after the first exam. Then I have a general idea what the teachers are going to test on.
Way too much little BS fluff in the way to study. And at times the message get convoluted with details that just don't matter, at least to me.
"Battle Ax!" Really? But that is the one that will be on the test, right? Just kidding, but I think you get what I mean. Just too much data.
Now the skills stuff is fun and I love that. Learning online is more precise in one regard, but, you don't know what the teachers are or aren't going to hit.
UHG!
Onward and up!
To infinity and beyond!
