Not sure if I'm allowed to comment without firsthand experience, but I met someone recently who had finished the program 2-3 years ago and is currently working as an RN. She said it was horrible. Most people do not finish the program (compare the number of students accepted to the number who take NCLEX). I have heard it from others as well. I would reconsider.
Thanks MyAimIsTrue. Appreciate the feedback even if it is second hand. This is what I have been reading. I wish I could talk to a current second year student and ask them a million questions. I've seriously been contemplating waiting in the parking lot or science building for someone in scrubs to walk by and ask them. Lol
my friend is currently in her last semester there. she says they are horrible. Teachers don't teach anything. She is pretty much on her own and uses a lot of other resources to study. If you can get through the program without teachers help much i would take it because its not easy to get into a program these days.

Hi I applied for Merritt College's nursing program and am waiting to hear back. It was my number one choice due to NCLEX pass rates and location, but I'm so scared now after reading old posts on here and such.
Like is it true you just watched videos for skills lab? Is the Sim lab still not in use? Did you find the teachers hard to approach and talk to? Was it all mostly power points? Were you at all hands on during vlincals? Or at least were the second year students?
Obviously nursing school is tough... Does this school make it significantly tougher than it has to be? Is this intentional or due to lack or care or are they just pain oblivious to it?
Thanks so much in advance!
