Meridia Huron Graduates

U.S.A. Ohio

Are there any graduates or students of the Meridia Huron Hospital RN diploma program in Cleveland? I have submitted my application, and my interview is in March. They only select 60 students, so I was wondering how they make their selection on acceptance. Do they interview everyone and then make a decision by a certain date or send out a letter after the interview.

Anxiously waiting!

No info. But good luck.:D

hello, I just wanted to ask when you applied to Huron? I got accepted last month fro the upcoming august start date and am very excited. Have you met with Barb Szegeti? It took awhile for everthing to come through but I would call or email her. Reply back to me please...

Congratulations!

No. I haven't met with Barb yet. My meeting is March 24. That is what concerns me. How long did it take after your meeting to find out if you were accepted? When I called in December, they said they were still accepting applications. My fear is that they will fill up before my meeting in March. I already have my B.A and 3 classes away from my Master's in computer science though. I am completing A&P II now. All othe prerequisites are complete. I am so nervous. If I don't get accepted for the fall then I will have to do a lpn program. Do you have any more insight into the program and maybe what they are looking for.

Thanks

I can see your concern about not meeting with her till March. I met with her last July so it's been awhile and I went to their open house also and that is when I applied. I think the reason that it took so long for me was because I started so early in the summer looking. So, I met with Barb last summer and didn't get my notice until december, but I must say that I bugged the crap out of her for that letter. Like you I didn't like waiting and just wanted to know so I could either move on to another college etc.. Since I started and applied so early I just think they weren't ready to make any decisions untill this past december and this year. The only thing I can tell you is to really keep contact withBarb, even call her and see if there were any openings that so happen to cancel etc... I am in your same boat...I have a degree and all the prereq's done...I just have the 7 nursing classes to complete. I wish I could give you more advice but I don't know what else to say. Are you trying for the day or evening classes? I think you'll still have a good chance even if you do have to wait till march. Have you sent her everything else that she needs to look at for acceptance? As far as the interview...that was a piece of cake.....just make sure she has all your paperwork already and email her with questions etc... Hope this helps. What part of ohio are you from? Get back to me when you can.

Wow that seems like such a long time from the summer to December. Now I really wonder about getting in August. The way it sounds like I may not make the August cut. I think I will call her on Tuesday and see how things are looking and if there is an available spot open before March 24. I was planning for the evening program. I work full time so I am unable to go during the day. Tomorrow I am planning to visit Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at case western reserve for their open house. I hear they have a good direct entry program, but its all during the day. I want to find away around that if possible. I just bought a house so it would be impossible for me not to work.

I live in Cleveland Heights, OH. about 8 minutes from the hospital. They have all my paper work. What makes you think I will still have a good chance for the August program? In the interview did you get any idea as if there is a waiting list or how they select students? If they make selections once a year. Can you tell me more about the interview and what to expect?

I would hate to have to wait another year, but maybe the lpn program may not be so bad in the mean time. I hate my job, so I can't see having to see these people for another two years.

I really enjoy this forum. I am glad I got to chat with someone who's going to the same school. I will let you know what I find out on Tuesday.

WELL ONE REASON I THINK THAT YOU HAVE A GOOD CHANCE IS I HEARD THE DAY PROGRAM USUALLY FILLS UP FIRST. AS FAR AS THE INTERVIEW, I HAD TO WRITE OUT A PARAGRAPH WHEN I FIRST GOT THERE I THINK IT WAS ABOUT WHY I WANTED TO BE A NURSE..ETC. AND THEN BASICALLY SHE JUST TALKED WITH ME ABOUT MY PREVIOUS SCHOOLING AND THATS REALLY ABOUT IT. WE BASICALLY JUST CHATTED ABOUT MY PAST AND THINGS OF THAT SORT. I WOULDN'T WORRY ABOUT THE INTERVIEW THATS FOR SURE. LIKE I SAID I WOULD EMAIL HER, 9IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT I'LL GIVE YOU HER ADDRESS) AND THATS PRETTY MUCH ALL YOU CAN DO. HAVE YOU TRIED APPLYING ANYWHERE ELSE? THE LPN PROGRAM WOULDN'T BE A BAD ROUTE BUT IF I WERE YOU I WOULD DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET IN TO BE AN RN...YOU'LL BE HAPPY YOU DID..ESPECIALLY MONEY WISE. HOW ARE YOUR GRADES IN THE PAST...BECAUSE THEY LOOK AT THAT I KNOW. THE WAY BARB PUT IT, A COMMITEE LOOKS AT YOUR APP EVERY SO OFTEN SO IF THEY MADE AN APPOINTEMNT FOR YOU FOR THE UPCOMING START DATE THEN THEY MUST BE STILL ACCEPTING APPS. THEY MIGHT NOT EVEN HAVE ANOTHER COMMITEE MEETING UNTIL AFTER MARCH SO YOU STILL MAY HAVE A CHANCE. I CAN'T REMEMBER ALL THE QUESTIONS YOU'VE ASKED ME IN YOUR LAST NOTE..... WRITE ME BACK FOR ANY OTHER QUESTIONS PLEASE. HOPE THIS ALL HELPS

I SAW YOU WERE ONLINE AT THE SAME TIME AS I WAS AND WAS TRYING TO USE THE CHAT SERVICE SO WE COULD TALK BACK AND FORTH...HAVE YOU EVER USED THAT BEFORE? ANYWAY, I DON'T SEE YOU ON HERE ANYMORE....HAVE A GOOD DAY.
