Hi All,
I hope all is well! I figured I would start this forum because I applied to Mercy University's Fall 2025 weekend accelerated nursing program. Looking forward to sharing ideas and celebrating our acceptance!
Millirockstarr said:Hi! I'm also applying for Mercy Fall 2025. I'm just nervous because of the price! I'm an alumni of Mercy and still have students loans from that degree. I graduated with Health Science and I can't seem to find ANY type of job with that degree. Nursing has always been my dream and it's a difficult decision, but I don't have any other choices. I've tried so many other schools from Concordia to Manhattanville, both schools were terrible. Mercy was the only school I enjoyed, but it's a big step. I also wish that the classes were on the Dobbs Ferry campus, because it's much closer to me, so I have to find a way to get to and from the BX.
Hey I don't know if you know but there is a shuttle bus at mercy that runs to the bronx and Dobbs Ferry campuses. Good luck I've also have my health science degree and is also struggling to find a job too. Does anyone know of any good private loans that I won't need a cosigner for the nurse corp I missed the deadline but for other looking to pay for tuition I heard about the 1199 union as well.
Hello There!
Has anyone applied for the 1199 grant? If so did you hear anything back? I've applied, I did the post orientation paperwork, and I am just waiting to hear back. I've reached out multiple times via email no response. When I call, I am transferred to a mailbox where I'm unable to leave a VM.

They're only focused on Summer RN. For the fall, it begins August 1st to apply. That's what I was told but I also have 1199 already.

Tell me about it. Someone in Finaid told me to do a payment plan and hope the $ comes through before then. But they are extremely slow! I know someone still waiting for them to pay for their last Spring semester.

Last Spring? That's crazy. Thank you for the advice you gave me!

Thank you! Yes, I plan to take the shuttle, but hopefully they'll allow me because I don't live on campus. Previously, I was at another college and they told me I couldn't take the shuttle, due to me not being a resident 😒 Anyway, unfortunately I don't know personally about any private loans where a co-signer isn't needed; however, I did see something about SoFi and Federal Student Loan Aid might offer them. Whatever you do though, just make sure you do as much research as possible (even if someone says they used the company before). Loans are terrible as is, and I would never ever want anyone to get in a money jam.

Don't worry I took it all the time and I don't live on campus either. But I need a way to pay my tuition but I have no choice but private loan I know fasfa won't cover everything.
Hi everyone, quick question. Has anyone had a problem with the link sent, to schedule the mandatory financial services meeting. I'm trying to set the appointment and unfortunately I continue to get an error message"Error, Portal is inactive" msg. I even tried doing it through the student portal, and was unsuccessful.
