Mercy Medical Center Redding NEW GRAD

Published

Hey all!

Just wondering if anyone else has applied to Mercy Medical in Redding for the New Grad Program. Or if anyone knows their hiring process?? I'm just really anxiously waiting to see if I get an interview...lol! Thanks!

I just got a call for an interview this morning, so I think they are beginning to get back to people. There are likely some units that are further along in the process of screening applicants than others though so don't freak if you're still waiting to hear back. Interviews are being held April 22-May 9.

Congratulations on the interview!! :) May I ask what unit contacted you? We weren't able to pick units during the application process, right?

Rinniethepooh, thanks for the info!! I haven't gotten a rejection email but I haven't gotten the call either. the anticipation is killing me! lol...So are each department separately calling applicants then? They aren't just interviewing a pool of applicants and then splitting them into their units later?

Thanks guys! I have a lot of questions about the process myself! I'm not exactly sure how it works with regard to contacting individuals for interviews. However, I am under the impression it is not necessarily specific units calling applicants, but that there is a general pool of applicants they are selecting to interview. Supposedly it is a panel interview of 4 individuals: 3 directors of nursing (one oversees the med-surg/ortho/onc departments, one oversees tele/c-tele/float, and the other oversees ICU) and the other person is from the education department. I am not positive, but I think there may be an initial orientation period for new hires in all areas of the hospital, and unit-specific placement will occur at a later date. Let me know if anyone else finds out concrete details please!

Hey Guys! So I just talk to someone in HR and she told me they will be making calls til the end of next week...

I got called today for a panel interview. The person who called me was very nice, I got a great vibe. The unit was not specified, so I don't think that specific units have picked anyone out in particular.

I got a call for the panel interview last week too! The woman from HR was really nice, and said that the managers will decide which department would be the best fit after the interview. So I am going to prepare for interview questions for the 3 different units, but she said that just FYI, they probably will not be hiring for ICU this year (prob. just tele and med-surg)....Good luck everyone!! so exciting :)

Has anyone else interviewed for the program? I interviewed last week. They said they're interviewing into May

I'm not interviewing until May! What was your interview like? Any advice or tips would be appreciated. :)

Hi tofu- It wasn't too bad! Four on the panel. Sounds like a good program, and would love to get a spot. From what I read last year it seems they were already giving offers so I;m nervous about that. :/ Good luck on your interview!!!!!!

Does anyone know what types of questions will be asked at the interview and how long the interview lasts? Thanks

Hey guys! How's everyone doing? I hope interviews are going well. I was offered a position yesterday, and am very excited. From what I understand, they'll be making calls for most people the week of the 12th…so don't freak out if you haven't heard anything yet! For those who are offered, and end up accepting positions, when do you plan on moving to the area?

Good luck to everyone :) and think positive thoughts. Things will work out as they should, one way or another.
