Mercy Hospital (Miami) LPN-RN

Published

Hello everyone,

I'm looking into bridging into this program and wanted to know if there are any students out there (current or former) that would be able to provide information for this program. Such as quality of program, difficulty getting in, etc.... I do know that they are now accredited by ACEN. Any information would be great.

Thank you

Hi! @Superwoman

Curious to know if you did start at Mercy for the LPN/RN, and if so, how is it going so far? Took the NLN on 6/5/17 and passed ( found it easy, mostly priority questions, delegations ,and a few meds)...will start in August 2017.

Hi, tagging along on this thread!! Hope no one minds.

I'm new to South Florida and I have my LPN. I'm going to do prerequisites at Broward, then my plan is to try Mercy's bridge. Can anyone tell me what the school schedule looks like? Thanks and good luck!

Hi guys, I know this post is old, but I wanted to ask how difficult was the Nclex-PN and if you guys passed the first try, and also if the NLN Comprehensive PN for the LPN-RN at Mercy is just basic knowledge learned from LPN school. Thanks :)

Hello all! Just giving you guys an update. I did start the LPN to RN program at Mercy in May 2017. I passed the first semester, which included Med Surg Lecture & Clinicals, Pharmacology and a Transition to RN class. It was tough, but very doable. I am now in the second semester, which is Maternity, Psych and Pediatrics. I have 9 weeks left to go then only one more semester left which starts in January! The schedule for the first term is: Wed, Thurs 3p-10p and Sat 7a-5p (clinical). The schedule for second term is: Tues, Wed 4p-10p (clinical) and Friday 10a-6p. I'm feeling very confident and pleased with my decision to attend this program. Any questions? Let me know. Good luck everyone!

@SuperWowan thank you for taking your precious time and giving us a feedback. I've heard Nursing School is tough. Congratulations on surviving your first semester í ½í¸€í ½í¹í ¼í¿» One more question. Is financial aid available and federal loans? Thanks!

No problem, I know how important these reviews are in making a decision on which school to attend. There is no financial aid/loans for the RN program, but for the LPN program there is. My advice is to save the first semester of tuition so you don't feel so overwhelmed with cost.

Thanks :) Do you work while in the program?

Yes. Still working but went part time

Wow congrats on doing both and being successful í ½í¸€Your nick name suits really well í ½í²™

Thank you so much! You're very helpful. Best of luck to you!

_superwoman thanks for the update!

The hours seem doable for me as I work nights 11-7 and need to maintain full-time employment while in the program. I just called them recently and was excited to find out that Mercy dropped the age limit on general education science classes! Looks like they will be my first choice as my science class are about to be 10 years old. I'm looking to start in August 2018, I just need to get through this chemistry class first.

Do you know how much the tuition is per semester? Do they charge a flat rage per semester or do they charge by the credit hour?

Thanks again for your help!
