Hi,
I plan on applying for the Spring 2021 ABSN program at Mercy College in the BRONX, NY. I'm sure there are many students looking for advice and support from other potential students as well. Feel free to leave any helpful tips, comments and the struggles that you may come across while applying.
@jenn.herndz Yes, I have medical background. I’ve been working in healthcare for 7 years doing administration. And my undergrad degree is in health admin. I currently work at a hospital too.

Honestly, Mercy is the only school I applied. It was a risk but a risk that was worth it. I was nervous that I wouldn't get in and honestly forgot about it since I was waiting on a job opportunity until ------------------------ called me told me I got in LOL. I'm so excited and can't wait to start!!

According to ------------------------ the applications have to go to processing before it gets sent to the actual nursing committee. I verified that my application was just sent to the committee about 4 days ago along with “200+ applications” (Paul stated). I’m guessing my application took longer to process. IDK why but there’s still hope. We have until November 30 to hear back.
Did you guys apply to any other schools?
Don't give up. You will hear back. I didn't apply anywhere else.
I got the call that I got in on Wednesday. I applied the second week in August. ----------------------- said I needed to submit two letters of recommendation and I was confused because on the website it had said recommendations weren't required but they'll accept them. Only one of my recommenders sent theirs in and the other never did.
My overall undergrad GPA is 3.5
Pre-reqs are:
AnP 2- A (I never took AnP 1)
Microbiology A-
Chemistry B+
Psychology A
I was a CNA for 3 years so IDK if that was a factor in the decision.
