Published

Hello Everyone!!! Im Starting This Thread for Mercer 2016 Applicants! Im so nervous about Applying! But i know i will get into the right school. I Legit just started studying for the teas today. I plan on Taking them in november. What other programs are you guys applying? What are you going to write your nursing essay about?! Look forward to hearing from everyone.

Hi everyone! I have been accepted into Mercer for a couple months now and I'm so glad I found this feed!! For those that are nervous about getting in, I did NOT have great scores or GPA, but I wrote my heart out in my letter and I truly feel like that's why I got in. So.... Just because you don't have a 4.0 doesn't mean you still shouldn't apply! They care more about the quality of the person/ worth ethic than the highest testing scores. Whoever has already gotten accepted.. Wohoo!! I'm so excited to meet you guys :) And for anyone that has questions or need advice on the process, my number is 678-521-6426 to anyone that needs it. God bless and good luck!!

Hi everyone! I made it into GBCN!!! Thank God, because for a minute, I was scared that I wasn't going to get in. I truly believe it was my essay that was highlight of my application. I poured my heart out on my essay, and I made sure that it was reviewed by several people. The only advice I can give is to not give up! Just apply and hope for the best :)

My Stats:

GPA: 3.1

TEAS: 84%

Good Luck!

Tabi, i have about the same stats as you. how long did it take for you to hear back? I did my teas last week and i have submitted everything..it's been a week since they received everything. Keeping my fingers crossed. I'm not feeling too confident.

Someone please be brutally honest with me. I have a 3.3 GPA and a 70 on the TEAS. I had a killer essay with over 100 hours of shadowing. Still waiting for a letter.

Hi, I just received my acceptance letter. i'm so excited. I was worried i wasn't going to get in. My happiness was short lived when i realized that i need to take a nutrition class and philosophy. My current school which is university of North Georgia doesn't require the 2 classes.

My question is, are there any classes that can be substituted for these 2 classes?

Are there any schools that offer nutrition? preferably online..which school did you take the nutrition class?

What were your stats???

GPA 3.2

Hesi 80

It took 2 weeks to get my letter after I submitted all the paperwork

Congratulations! I just saw the message you asked me before you got in, but it took me two weeks to receive my acceptance letter as well. As far as the two courses you need to take, I don't think there is any way around it. You're going to have to take nutrition and philosophy. I do suggest talking to Nicole, the admission's counselor and ask her for yourself to be sure. Who knows, you may not have to take it now and can take it next summer before your senior year of nursing school. If you're not allowed that option, try to find a community college and take those two courses. It will save you money.

Thanks Tabi, I spoke to Nicole and she was great. She gave me the option to take the 2 classes a BYU which is an online school

You can put off the philosophy class til the summer between Jr and Sr. year, but you have to have the nutrition class completed before classes start in August. A bunch of my classmates took it through BYU and had no issues. Can't beat their prices either!

the prices are great at BYU,and i happened to have some left over pell grant so my current school will give me that money to pay for the 2 classes at BYU.. my only concern is, i'm going out of the country for the summer but BYU told me everything is online so i can do the assignments, essay, quizes etc online but i will probably come back and do the 4 proctored exams when i come back to the U.S as BYU doesn't have a proctored school in the country i'll be visiting. I will be back a month before school starts. crossing fingers it all works out.
