Merced College Fall 2018 & Spring 2019 Applicants

Published

Hello everyone!

Who here is ready to apply to Merced's nursing program next month? I'm about take my TEAS exam soon so I'm super nervous! If you don't mind me asking, how many points do you all suspect you are going to be applying with? This is the first program I am going to be applying to so I have no idea what to expect out of it and hope that I do everything correctly!

Omg so we will probably hear soon!!!!!

My friend is on the waiting list for the bridge program at merced. She said they just called her to update her current number on the list. So they're working on it! I hope we're next!!

I'm thinking so too!!! I know its a different application process but im glad to know they're at least working on that portion lol

It could still be the end of May before we know but i hope not!!

I am so scared :(

Me too.... every time I get an email from school. My heart literally drops :(

anyone else still nervous? :sorry:

Yes! & im getting nervous because a friend of mine told me that Merced might change their application & get rid of the lottery system :( she asked when she turned her application in this year and they told her it's very possible it's changing soon & will be only points.

I think that could also explain why merced keeps getting more and more applications. Fresno city changed their lottery system (you have to have so many points to enter their lottery, where at merced if you meet the basic criteria you get entered) so merced is the only true lottery system in the valley. It's nuts

It's monday guys!! Hopefully we hear something today or this week

Yeah I would not be surprised if it changed in the next few years. I just hope I get my chance of getting into the program before that happens! I applied to MJC with 71 points but I was told that would not make the cutoff so I'm going to have to retake the TEAS or retake classes.

They will definitely have to change the rules! The 4 year applying and then your automatically in wont work with this many people applying every year.. My points definitely aren't competitive enough. So glad ill be starting the lvn in January cus getting into the RN just feels so discouraging.. Wish they had the funding and instructors to make a bigger class size. 60 students a year is nothing :(
