Merced College Fall 2018 & Spring 2019 Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello everyone!

Who here is ready to apply to Merced's nursing program next month? I'm about take my TEAS exam soon so I'm super nervous! If you don't mind me asking, how many points do you all suspect you are going to be applying with? This is the first program I am going to be applying to so I have no idea what to expect out of it and hope that I do everything correctly!

My friend who is in her 1st semester of RN program is gona see if she can get any hints for me as to when we should expect a response... I cant believe they are still processing them..

Wow!!!! 400 applications and they only take 50 through the lottery. That sucks!!!!!

So i just heard from a girl who is doing work study for the allied health dept and she said definitely wont be hearing anything until end of May!!!!! Said they are still processing apps and they had almost400 this year :( guess it's going to take longer... She may be wrong but im guessing with the size of the line this year she's not

400!? Wow :( that's a lot. I turned my application in on the second day and there wasn't a line when I went. I'm not sure how busy it was the first day.

Hi, 4th semester RN student here. There was absolutely around 400 applicants this year. My instructor was telling me and some third semester students how lucky we were we got

accepted during our application cycle (fall 2016, spring 2017) because we had half the applicants...the competition for merced has always been cutthroat but every year more and more ppl apply. My advice is don't put all your eggs in one basket and apply anywhere you're qualified! Good luck to you all.

I went the 1st day and stood in line for almost 2 hours!! I saw for sure 60-75 people. That was before 10am!!!! Im really hoping she's wrong lol but i have a feeling she's not.. I know they've had big increases in apps every year for past few years. Merced has always been less compacted but not for long

So my guess is that they definitely are behind in notifying us this year lol im so glad i applied for the lvn program in 2015!!! Thank god i start that in January and can do bridge program! I cant wait another 2 years for the 4 year cut off the have

I can't remember who told me but I thought they stopped at around 200 applications. I think it was an allied health counselor.

they accept everyone who is qualified' applications and reviews them and then Puts them in the lottery.

No they dont stop. Not that I've ever heard of anyways

Aww man that makes me so sad but we will all get our turn one day!! I wish we could at least find out soon.

I agree. That's so discouraging.

Don't be discouraged. Every year people get in on their first, second, third and fourth try. You won't know until your letter comes so don't be sad or stress yourself. I got in on my third try and I was devastated the first year I got waitlisted and the second year I got flat out denied. Buttttt I would not change anything because I love my class im graduating with and I felt like i was better able to prepare myself those two years i waited to get in. You all have a solid chance.
