Men in Nursing...What has been your greatest challenges?

Published

The purpose of this thread is for men in nursing to share amongst themselves and to communicate with our female colleagues the challenges that we have faced that may be unique to us. What have been your greatest challenges, guys?

I agree with the above posts. I am often referred to as the "male nurse"...like there is a difference here somehow. Quite often, I just reply back..."I'm a nurse", or "Yeah, woman can become doctors too". I just wish I had a cute butt though to get those free meals. My butt's pretty average.

The greatest challenge has been having females view me only as a hunk and not acknowledging that I have feelings. I hear their comments about my butt when they think I can't hear. They are always trying to get me to do things prior to sending me flowers and a couple meals at a fancy place.

I fell your pain. The greatest challenge for me too is to have females to view me as a hunk. I try to tell them that i'm not fat, I'm big boned, but that doesn't seem to work. I'll keep at it though.
