Memorial Sloan Kettering Salary

Published

Hello! I'm a new grad nurse who just accepted a position at Memorial Sloan Kettering! I was wondering if anyone knew if the salary offer included night shift differential already at MSKCC.

They didn't mention any differential or give me any more information about it and I'm so uncomfortable asking about money!

It seemed like the salary offer was a lot but after talking with my friends who accepted positions in other hospitals, my offer was about 10k or so less than theirs after calculating their night shift differential increase.

Thank you!

You'll only be certain if you contact the recruiter, to be honest. They are used to such questions so they won't judge you for clarifying.

If you want the job regardless of whether or not the night shift differential is included, then just sit tight and enjoy your new role!

I worked at MSK many moons ago and started there about 10 years ago. When I was hired onto an inpatient unit, I was hired for nights but my salary offered was reflective of my daytime salary and did not include the differential.

The differential was added when I actually went to nights on my paychecks, after being oriented and spending a bit of time on days. No idea if it still works that way though. So my base salary was what was the offical rate of pay. The night diff was added on each paycheck reflective of the hours I worked overnight.

Good luck--it's a marvelous organization to work for.

Thank you for this clarification because I just came to allnurses to ask this exact question. Because the offer did not include the 10% night differential on the letter. I am honestly impressed at their very competitive rates. They do not allow you to negotiate but I've worked at Cornell & joined NYP/cornell with years of experience thinking they paid the best....I was wrong.,,.MSKCC pays so much better & has such an iron-clad nurses' retention rate which (no hate) but I certainly can't say the same about that hospital across from them.

Care to share how much they offered you.

Hi Oncnurse1021, so your offer will be based on your years of experience. I've been a nurse 7years. & I'll be doing nights so they have a standard 10% night differential. On the actual job advert itself, because of salary transparency, you'll see the lowest they can pay & the highest on that scale for the role. If you get a certification you'll get $ for that as well.
