Memorial Hermann GN Residency Summer 2017

Published

Hi all! Starting this thread for all of us new grads who are applying to any of the Memorial Hermann hospitals for the Summer 2017 GN Residency programs!

Let's keep each other updated on emails/match days/how interviews went, etc!!

What location and what specialty have you applied for?!

My #1 choice: MH The Woodlands - ER

Good luck to all of you!!!

Hi!! I also applied to the MH Residency! MY #1 choice is The Woodlands-ICU!

Good luck everyone!

Nice! Maybe we will end up working together!

Hi! I was wondering if anyone knew how strict they are about the gpa requirement? Also, I'm coming to Houston from an out of state college (family recently moved to houston), how is it looking for new grads getting hired? And does anyone know when we should start hearing back from memorial hermann?

I also applied! My top choice is PICU at Children's. Looking forward to hearing updates from everyone :)

Not sure how strict they are but MH requires a 3.0 GPA. There are TON of hospitals in the Houston area, and Methodist is opening a hospital in July in The Woodlands and so is Texas Children's. so right now, it's looking good for new grads because a lot of experienced nurses at other area hospitals are trying to get a job at the new Methodist hospital & the new Texas Children's.

Great, thanks for the reply!!

Top Pick for me was Memorial NE, ER Dept. Good luck to us all!

Specializes in ICU.

Hello! Top picks were TIRR and Sugar Land..good luck to all! :nurse:

Does anyone know how strict MH is on their BLS Certification requirement? It says it's a requirement on the application, however should I get certified beforehand just in case I get called back to Match Day or do they give you time to become certified before you start their residency program?

I would definitely get it before you apply. There is a spot on the application for you to enter any certifications you have, so I'm sure they will be looking to make sure you have your BLS.

Really? I didn't see a spot on the application to enter certifications.. hmm, thats weird. Thanks!
