Hello! Has anyone applied to Memorial Healthcare System's Fall 2025 Nurse Residency Cohort? Applications were open from August 4-8. Please post updates of the process of applying (call from recruiter, invitation to interview, denial). If you have interviewed for this position in the past please also explain what that experience was like. It's extremely competitive in South Florida and would love to build a community throughout this difficult application process.

oh wow me too LOL. I think over 10 people interviewed for that speciality. I felt like the managers were very interested in me and were engaged but I guess not. There was only 2 positions open for that unit. I didn't understand the concept of writing our top 3 units to only interview of one unit. I wish it was the flipped, that we walked around and talked to everyone and the units chose who they wanted to interview at least we know they were interested in us
I interviewed for PICU. It seems like there's just so many applicants for limited spots. I'm losing hope in this process 😞

Agreed. It feels almost like a punishment for not choosing correctly.
Exactly how I feel. every booth was the same number of openings, 1-2 spots, even med-surg. When I spoke with other nurses that participated in the residency, this wasn't their experience, this whole process of the hiring event is pretty new, and I honestly wasn't a fan. Do any of you know anyone that got a second interview and how that went?
I also interviewed for PICU. Going in I knew it was a competitive choice but it was my #1 so I decided to stick to it. I also think it's a bit defective that we can only interview for 1 position, it limits us significantly to any other opportunities. the interviewers were really engaged during the interview so I was super hopeful but it's okay guys, when 1 door closes, another one opens !

yes I will be applying, but this rejection was definetly an eye opener to start serioulsy applying to other residencies. I really wanted memorial for the easier commute, and being employee but that didn't help 😕

honestly there were 1 or 2 med-surg units where I found ther energy to be really good and receptive, and if had an opportunity for a second interview, that's where I wanted to go. But I wanted to go with my top choice as well.

Hi, I also participated in the hiring event, and I'm an internal employee and got a rejection call from the recruiter. pretty disappointing since, I am already in the system. what did you guys interview for, and what did you think of the whole hiring event all together?
