   At VUMC I make 42/hr day 48/hr night for the float pool RNs with no insurance...am able to get as much overtime as I want and ratios are GREAT!... bring in 129000/yr with overtime mixed in...love it!

   firing her is a bit much....There are no grounds for one losing a license either....she probably fell asleep because she is overworked and exhausted. Good nurses are to hard to come by......

   World traveler that sounds just terrible...thank god your are outta there..Ratios like that are ridiculous and one should never ever have to go along with that!!

   She sounds like she needs an audience and is in the wrong field-actress....anyway, you are not too sensitive and she should not be precepting anyone but herself!! Maybe, next time you work, you can see if you can work with someone else.

   Gosh..some of your ratios are off the chart in a bad way..at my facility on typical med-surg floor we have 4 patients on days and 5 on nights with cp's for all most of the time and a CN with no patients assisting you on the floor..If there is a staff...
