I was wondering if I could get some info from anyone who went to the LPN program at Medtech. I was wondering what the actual cost was, no one ever seems to mention it. I know it is an expensive school. Also I was wondering if you had financial aid and if that paid for all of it, or if you had to pay out of pocket? Please help if at all possible! Thanks

The LPN program at MedTech is 97 credit hours, $3995.00 per quarter, and is 5 quarters (15 months long). When I met with my Financial Aid Advisor she said if I were to go for the LPN program instead of the RN program I wouldn't have any out of pocket expenses based on the fact that I received the max in financial aid and the max in loans...
Hope this helps.
Also if you go their website and scroll down to the bottom you can access the MedTech Catalog for 2009-2010 which will describe the program, individual classes, and ALL the fees.

Thank you so much for all your help! I really appreciate it! I am excited to go and I can't wait! Did you go to the Indy or Greenwood campus?
I am still going...only in my 2nd quarter:) But I go to the Indy campus. Which one will you be going to?
Good luck!!!
I will be going to the greenwood campus. Do you know if the Indy campus has their nln acc yet? I am supposed to get a pell grant of 5000 this year so I hope I can get enough loans to cover it! Is that the cost with the books or without? I have so many questions lol! Also do you go to night classes or day? What is the schedule like, the days you go? Thanks so much for giving me the info!
No they are in the process, but I believe they have another visit left before the are fully accredited. And that is the cost without books and other fees like the ATI fees, CPR, Virtual Library fees etc. But if you get the max in everthing you should be ok as far as out of pocket expenses.
I attend at night...and 1st quarter I went four days a week, Tues-Fri 5:30p-10:10p, this quarter I only go Wed-Fri 5:30p-10:10p. I believe the LPN program attends 4 or 5 days a week and starts clinicals a lot sooner than the RN as well. I am happy to help you with whatever questions you have...I was in the same boat last year:)
So you are in the LPN right? That's what I'm not sure about, I don't know what the max amount of loans you are able to get? I so badly want to be able to go to school there. I am in Texas right now bc my husband is in the army and he is deploying this summer, that is the only chance I have that I won't have to work, and can just go to school! Do you have any idea about what's the lowest score you can get on the teas test? Sorry I know I'm asking so much, I'm just anxious!
No I chose to do the RN and just get my books elsewhere so that cut down on my monthly payments. Since you husband is in the military you should get the GI bill right? If so, that would help you out a lot! Ok I have been looking all day and I finally found all my orientation stuff so give me a few seconds and I'll post some info up here.
Ya I wish I could use his GI bill but he is saving it for his daughter! I don't mind to get loand I just hope they will pay for everything, and really thank you for everything, I so appreciate it!
Ok well I thought somewhere in the material they gave us it was printed what the minimum TEAS scores were for both programs but I cannot find it to save my life. I am sorry. But I can tell you they were not ridiculously high, I believe the only ones that have minimum scores are the Math and Science portions. After you take the TEAS and pass you then have an interview.
As far as the maximum loans, it is $9500, including both subsidized and unsubsidized. The maximum I got for the Federal Pell Grant was $5550, and then I got a state grant as well. Make sure you fill out the FAFSA by the IN deadline to ensure you get the state grant. There is also a Nursing Scholarship Fund you can apply for but you have to work as a nurse in the state of IN for 2 years after you graduate.
The other fees are TEAS Test fee $45, Criminal Background Check $20, Virtual Library Fee $25 per quarter, CPR Fee $60 (although you can get this done elsewhere cheaper), Clinical Rotation Fee $300 per quarter, ATI Fee $42 per quarter, Liability Insurance Fee $60. And like I said the LPN program is $4995 per quarter and 5 quarters total. Sounds like a lot but the Fin Aid dept is really helpful and really works with you. I hope I am helping you rather than making it more confusing lol!
Ok well even without the GI bill you should still be ok. If you can possibly I would try and get your books online or from another student...that saved me literally $600 a quarter!
