Nursing Students School Programs

Published

HI, i am finally following my passion and dreams of becoming a nurse, however i do have a 2 yr old and i have bills etc, so i cannot afford to go to a 2yr or 4yr nursing program right away and i really do not want to go thru the hassle of taking pre reqs for 1,2, or 3 yrs just to get on a wait list. i have tried this route before. so after doing a little bit of research i have decided that i may want to attend medtech college for the lpn program. i just want to know if there is anyone who is currently enrolled or have graduated from there can tell me your opinions of the lpn program and if you were able to find a job..

Their LPN is accredited and their RN is in Candidacy status. Many hospitals do hire Medtech LPN and RN grads, however most magnet hospitals don't. I have talked to several employed happy nurses that attended Medtech.

DO NOT attend medtech! They have abysmal NCLEX pass rates and a horrible reputation. Their RN program is barely holding on to BON accreditation and I would not be surprised if they lose it.

I attended MedTech College, and have had no problem finding jobs. I have my LPN, but am looking at schools to get my RN that are accredited. Not sure if it matter for my RN because I will not settle for anything less than my BSN. I learned a lot at MedTech, and do not regret going there. Whatever you decide to do I am sure you can do it.
