Medical products we need

Last night I asked my Supervisor to get me some sterile 3x3's for sterile dressing changes. She came back with a large package of non-sterile 3x3's. We had no sterile 3x3's. How can we document that we did sterile dressing changes when we do not have sterile products. Our documentation has exploded, I have paperwork telling me how important it is to document properly. We have been noticing a switch to much less expensive ways to do things, from disposable medical equipment, dressing supplies and the meals that are served to our patients. The only thing they are not reducing is the amount of documentation that has to be done. That has increased dramatically.

Is this something you recommend for the hands-on staff, residents or the demanding higher ups???:)
