Medical Mission Trips

Published

Hello all,

I've been an RN for about 1.5 years on a general medical floor in the midwest.

I've ALWAYS wanted to go to a medical mission trip and see what is going on in the other world and help out.

My question is, with which organizations have you been to a medical mission trip with? Which country did you go? How was the safety there (which is one of the biggest concern being safe in order to enjoy my stay)?

Also, has anyone been to mission trips with Mission of Hope Haiti, or International Medical Relief (which are two organizations I was looking at)?

Thank you!!

Sky Blue.. I have been volunteering with Operation Serve International since 2000. I have been to Egypt, Morroco and Mexico City. Currently teams are going to Mex Cy with Mercy Missions to the garbage cities areas for one week of outreach. If you have further questions you can get good information from operationserve.org. This organization is committed to safety of teams. It is a reasonable outlay of funds to go. We stay in a safe modest hotel . Food is safe if you eat where they provide the food. I have never had any safety issues.
