Hello!
Has anyone gone on a medical humanitarian mission (not via the military) while on active duty? If you have, did you use your own leave days to go? Who did you go with?
Thanks!

A friend of mine did, and she had to use her own leave time as it was a civilian excursion and not a military assignment.
Thanks Pixie!
I'm deployed right now and am bored out of my mind, hence the random research into medical missions. I'm finishing up an online class this week, but have no idea what I'm going to do the rest of the time I'm here!

I did a legal nurse consulting course through the University of Georgia while I was in Afghanistan, and I also completed a good portion of my second to last MSN course. Sometimes it was a challenge to keep my brain occupied! I became obsessed with the gym, lol. I am sorry/not sorry you're bored! Be safe. :)
