i am a US nurse looking to travel to aus. was curious about health benefits, life insurance, & car insurance. Is it needed with the structure of your govt or do you have to be a citizen to get these?

As an Australian........it would be absolutely marvelous if the governmentWould pay for my life insurance and my car insurance!!! But through my taxes I do get free health in ghe public system only though, not private. Unfortunately you will not get free health and need to be insured even for public as America does not give Austalians free health.

What do you mean by the way our govt is structured?Tax payers pay for everyone and everything ?:cry: You will need to pay for your own car insurance and registration of your car and pay for your own life insurance, which you also pay taxes on.

We are one of the highest taxed countries in the world.

Hope I have disillusioned you too much:bugeyes:
