Hello all NPs I need some guidance
I have a great job in urgent care- problem I have is the medical assistants are lazy and do not want to work??
I have been patient/been friendly/spoken to clinic manager which went nowhere.....apparently shes buds with the MA's. Anyway I believe now the siutation is getting worse and out of hand? '
They give me attitude if I noticed they haven't asked something- i have never had this mcuh of an issue anywhere I've worked.
I am contemplating to email the medical director but afriad of retaliation.
Have you been through this ?

Since you say the clinic manager buds with the MA's, your goose is cooked. Start your job search unless you can push your distaste for the status quo deep down into your gullet. This is not a battle that you can probably win. You would have got a positive reading when you talked to the manager if that were the case.
I cannot find another job at this time- I can take rudeness-the question is do you think I Should reach out to the medical director?
I have met him before- he said he was very impressed with me he is very nice but do not know him.

What are the specific safety concerns, and have you spoken directly to the MAs about it yet? I would document specific details, how these concerns impact patient safety/care, and recommendations for what you would like to see change (and/or what you have already done to address issue) and give that to manager, and medical director if you need to escalate the issue. Keeping reports like this focused on facts and rational for why it is a problem and can also help identify if this is an issue with training, systems issue, or behavioral issues. Hopefully by focusing on the specific issues (with examples) and tying them directly to patient safety and care drama/personality issues can be avoided.
I had to do this recently with some of the BHTs at my RN job, and it was well received and some positive changes have some of it. Good luck!
