Agencies that utilize RNs to work on LPN level cases have the option to reimburse the RN at their RN rate of pay from their revenue. Using medicaid as a scape goat for lowering wages is a cheap way to insult your nurses, RN or LPN. Advise you to contact the medicaid authorities and find out, if indeed, they did reduce their reimbursement. Maxim Healthcare in my area lowered wages based upon a medicaid reduction that never occurred. When a medicaid person found out about it and intervened, the accounts manager was forced to reinstate the wages of nurses.

I found out today that Medicaid is no longer paying for an RN for certain cases but only LPN if the client doesn't have a "need" for an RN. Thus, I will now get another pay reduction to $16/hour.
I am SO discouraged with this system.
