I disagree. Ask anyone who is an EMT. When they pick up anyone, one of the things they do is called a "swoop." They look at the neck and down the arms to see if there is any special identification. I teach diabetes education and always advise my clients who are on insulin to invest in a bracelet. Perhaps the ER nurses don't look, but the EMT's certainly do!

I post at another forum a lot and advise anyone on opiate therapy to get a medic alert.I understand that narcan is administered in the e/r when there is any doubt and told them to list it on their medalion.A coulple of nurses there said that the medic alert bracelet information was rarely consulted.I though this was odd considering if someone is unconsious you need all the info possible before any action is undertaken.This is my first post here but I often read and have learned a lot here.
