Take a look at Prentice Halls NCLEX review book. I really liked the way this book is organized, the info is quick and easy to find plus there's lots of NCLEX questions to practice with.
thanks for your response

We just finished Med Surg. alot of us used Saunders NCLEX review 4th edition, blue cover. I only used the textbook as a study aid and primarily used the Saunder's as my textbook. Got my highest grades thanks to Saunders. I'm a huge fan of this book its with me constantly.
Its broken down by system and each chapter following each system focuses on the meds used in treatment of that system.
My clinical instructor looked at it after I told her about it and she recommended it to everyone in my clinical group.
Retails for around $45.00 at Amazon
Good luck

I'm about to start my 2nd semester with med-surg as well. My school has a mentor/mentee program and my mentor (who just finished med-surg) suggested the Reviews and Rationals book for med-surg. I just got it and it seems really good! Gives lab values and tests done for various health issues.
You might also look at Med-Surg Nursing Success. This book is a compilation of NCLEX questions each brokendown by system and disease. The Med Surg Reviews and Rationales is a great book too.

I also just finished my first semester of Nurs. 1 and I got a B(88%) in the class (wanted an A of course) without really opening the textbook. I used the Saunders 4th edition also to study from this term and also plan to use it for Med Surg, the questions are reallly helpful. Even if you haven't covered some of the material in class it may revisit you on the Hesi or other exit exams, so if you can swing it I highly recommend this book. Good Luck:yeah:!

Yes I will have to agree Saunders is EXCELLENT and so is the Med. Surg review and Rationales by Mary Ann Hogan. Key to passing Med Surg is doing as many questions as possible and mk sure to read the Rationales even if you got the answer right.
