  1. Hi Reshmi, I am taking the Teas Exam for the second time tomorrow at Orlando Tech. You will need to score 75% in all areas they dont take the overall score. I scored 85% in reading, and 73% in Math and English sections, so I only retake the Math and English part of the exam. It has been six months since I've taken the exam, but study the punctuation section of the ATI study guide and the grammar. You also need to know how to form a sentence correctly. Time is a huge factor for the Math section, the ATI study guide gives you great examples of this. Orlando Tech is still using version 4 for their Teas exam and I have heard that it is a little easier than version 5. I was a nursing student at Valencia, but I didnt make it past nursing 2. Its been about a year since ive been out of the program, but I decided I'm not going to give up on my dream of becoming a nurse even if I have to take a different route to get there.. Good luck :)
  2. Thank you everyone for your replies:) they are greatly appreciated!
  3. Thank You Carliotter :). I take the exam next Thursday, so I will go today to get more books.
  4. The TABE test isn't at all difficult to pass. I scored 12.9 in all areas except reading, I don't know what happened but I scored only a 11.1 in that area. The school that I am applying to requires a 11.0 in each area, but overall it's not hard. Good Luck!
  5. Hi all... I haven't posted on this site in quite a while. I was originally in a RN program but now I am no longer in the program and I plan on applying to LPN school. The school I want to attend requires that you take two tests: TABE which is just a basic skills test and the TEAS exam. I scored very well on the TABE exam, but I am stressing about the TEAS exam. I have read many comments about the TEAS, but at the school I am applying to requires a 75% in R, L, and Math. The science portion doesn't count so I think that helps alot. I purchased the TEAS 4 study guide and the Math section is stressing me out. I don't anticipate any trouble with the reading and language portions, but the Math I am worried about because Math is a weak area for me. I get the basics, it's more of the conversions and Algebra. Any advise is greatly appreciated:nurse:
  6. NRSKaren can you please remove the post for me....thanx:nurse:
  7. Hi can someone e-mail me the link also, I am taking the TEAS Exam in July, thank you
  8. I am a little confused by the math questions. On our dosage tests the question always tells you what they are looking for, gtts/min, ml/hr, etc.. They do however throw information in the questions that is not needed like the clients weight and we have to figure out what info is needed and what is not. They also tell you whether or not to round to the nearest tenth or hundreth even though the rounding rules says how to round each number.
  9. This is what helps me: 1) NCLEX review questions (Saunders is a good one 4th edition) 2) Read chapters before attending class 3) Be very attentive during lectures because teachers tend to highlight the key info needed for the exam. 4) Study group (large study groups dont seem to help me, try to limit to just a few people) 5) Reviews (my teachers offered reviews which was just NCLEX questions focused on the material we covered the previous week in class) Definitely helps!
  10. I also have the RN notes pocket guide and the meds pocket guide along with a few others that seem to help me out.
  11. We just completed our final exam but it a Hesi exit exam and it only counted as 20% of our grade. I studied NCLEX review questions from the Sunders 4th edition book and the key summaries for each chapter and it seemed to help.
  12. I agree with Daytonite, only the pt's. statement goes in quotes.
  13. I also just finished my first semester of Nurs. 1 and I got a B(88%) in the class (wanted an A of course) without really opening the textbook. I used the Saunders 4th edition also to study from this term and also plan to use it for Med Surg, the questions are reallly helpful. Even if you haven't covered some of the material in class it may revisit you on the Hesi or other exit exams, so if you can swing it I highly recommend this book. Good Luck:yeah:!
