med surg to a ped. office

I currently work close to an hr from home. I work on a med surg floor 3nites a week which includes everyother weekend. I recently had a interview at my childrens pediatricans office for a part time day job. They did say I would be able to work extra hours some weeks. I would end up making alot less money but would have more of a life. I have been at the hosp about a year, I do not hate my job it is just not what I want to do the rest of my life. I really want to find something that I truly like and want to be at for a long time. This is my 2nd career and my first lasted many happy years but needed a change and more money. Not sure if I should give up the hosp job for a less money but a day job and only 10min from home. Any advise would be appreicated

Hi, I think if u want to loosen up the load then maybe take the pedi job and see if u could possibly work per diem at the hospital. I work in a pedi office and it can get hectic esp with keeping up with multiple docs and giving many shots per child. But if its closer to home then maybe that is what u need. Workin an hour away from home is far enough. What does your family think about it? Also u need to think about your finances if u can afford to cut back on pay. Well good luck with your decision.

I understand that. I was saying if you take the Peds job, work PRN at the hopsital.

Unfortunately the hosp does not have PRN jobs I am already at the lowest hrs per week.

So its all or nothing. I personally could not go down in pay. But if its affecting your life at home, it may be worth considering.
