Hi everyone, I am an RN with 20 years of experience planning a move to the Twin Cities in 2012 and in need of guidance. I am currently in a Charge Nurse position at the University of Colorado Hospital and in a BSN program.
It looks like jobs are tight in MN and I really am looking for a position where I won't loose too much money in my move. Any advice on where to apply, I would love a Charge Nurse position and twelve hour days, what is the average hourly rate?
I would be glad of any help you can give - Thanks

Well, as a new grad, I can tell you that with your experience you have a much better shot than a new grad does. That said, yeah, it seems like it's real real hard to find nursing jobs right now, BUT if you're not coming back till 2012, who knows what the market might be like then? I keep hearing the proverbial "wait for it...waaaiiit for it...." I've just gotten back into looking myself after having a baby, so we'll see where it goes!

Those are just some websites for the twin cities metro area hospital systems. There's also a county hospital called HCMC and there's also a VA in Minneapolis too. I did clinicals at Methodist (part of park nicollet) and was told most people there worked 12 hour shifts. I think you can also go to indeed.com and figure out salaries by typing in job title and location. Hope this helps.
Thanks so much for the resources
