So I'm retaking Medsurg this semester and I calculated out my grades and I have a solid "C" in the class. We have 1 more exam left and our final and I'm getting very scared! I had so much going on this week that study time could not be made. I will have a paper to write next week and it's hard to see me studying then. We have 3 weeks left till our 3rd exam and 4 weeks left for our final. I don't even know how I'm suppose to study for our final. It is just SO much information in just so little time. YES!... I have time management issues and desperately need help. I know that if I would put more time into studying I would be a straight "A" student b/c I see my self capable of doing it, if I just organized my self and schedule. The funny thing too is that I'm only taking 2 classes so I have more than enough time. Any suggestions, tips? What would you do?
CONGRATULATIONS! Your post sounds like me, i was struggling alot with med-surg at the beginning, though it was my first time, i was wondering every day if i wanted it or not, but i talked to my counselor and she really motivated me to succeed..also with the help of NCLEX books..u should look into those for next semester if u don't have any, but yeah, were all capable of succeeding, its more of a mind game than anything else. I wish u luck in the upcoming semesters!!
I too am struggling through Med Surg. I was an A student up til last semester, but now I am hoping to get the 77% I need to pass. At this momnet I have an 85%.
I just took a pharm test on Friday and I am waiting for the grade. The test was incredibly difficult. We were tested on all the meds that are covered in our Med surg class, which is about 170 in all. I thought I studied well, I knew the indications and actions of each med. I knew the biggie side effects and interactions. But it seemed the questions were soooo in depth especially the side effects questions they asked about side effects that I had even considered "important". When I went back over my test and was working on the questions I had circled to go back to.... it was just a guessing game. For all the studying I did and I had no clue.
The test I have left to take is on a combo of Genitourinary and Sensory(eye and ear problems) and then the final.
I just needed to let to talk about it a bit. :typing I am stressed about my grade but yet there are others that are below the passing mark and trying to bring there grades up so I never talk to them about my stress. So thanks for listening.
A, B, C it doesn't matter. When you graduate from school,
the license does not said: " YOU ARE AN A STUDENT. GREAT JOB". What it said is: "REGISTERED NURSE" only hahaha ^>^
so forget about aiming for an A in nursing school. don't over stress yourself. Accept it!
As long as you study and know your stuff. That's all it matter!
Yes, I have gotten past the A stress and like I said now I am just stressing about getting the 77% I need to pass. I feel no matter how much I study the exam has such aloof questions on it that I can't study right. Maybe I should start google "strange facts about Name the Disease, Medicine etc"
Not sure if you exams are NCLEX-based, but NCLEX books saved me thru MED Surg! Did you decide whether you wanted to be a nurse or not? I started freaking out 3 weeks before graduation and I'm sure it was just anxiety, but nursing is not something you want to do half-assedly. A bad experience can deflate one's bubble, but don't let it ruin your life. Good Luck! Talk to a counselor!
