Hi all! I am about to take the exam in May and am terrified for many reasons. I actually am an oncology/organ transplant nurse and lack experience in many areas (although we see do see many general med/surg patients as well) . I was looking on some tips to help me prepare besides answering questions. Also any added information about the exam would be helpful!
I hold two certification, one from the ANCC as Nurse Executive = BCNE and from the Academy of Medical Surgical Nursing = CMSRN. Accrediting organizations do not give these certifications away. I know nurses that failed both the ANCC & AMSN certification exams. I took a review course for the nurse Executive exam and self-studied for the CMSRN exam. I worked hard for both of them and am proud of this accomplishment.
Get a good NCLEX review book and review. AMSN sells on their website study guides and questions for their exam.
Good Luck

I'm sorry.
No one meant to insinuate that you shouldn't be proud, and I'm sorry if it sounded that way. That the ANCC exam is more difficult, is just something that I have heard. We've only had one nurse in our whole hospital take it, that I know of.
