MED-ED Currents RIP OFF

Published

I attended a 3 day MED-ED Currents Seminar in Savannah, GA last week. On the first day, I went to the registration desk and was given my badge and a bag of materials. There was no opportunity to sign in/out for the next three days. I received my evaluation link via email and quickly filled it in, so that I could print my CE credits. After multiple attempts to print it out failed, I called MED-Ed and was told that I am showing up as having NOT attended the seminar. When I asked how to get the credits, they told me that they wait on a "box of name tags" to be mailed to their offices, and if my name tag is not in there, then I will be marked present. This seems like a very archaic and bizarre way to keep track of attendees who are seeking Continuing Education credit. An attendee could, literally, get their nametag the first day, and then not show up for the rest of the time. Likewise, if they don't mark you present on the first day, you have to wait until "the box of leftover name tags" arrives! I have contacted my state board of nursing as well as the AACN who handles Med-Ed's accreditation. Not only has this been time consuming and aggravating, but the staff, including the owner's son, Steve Allen, was extrememely rude. When I repeated back that we are waiting on a "box of name tags", correct?, he called ME condescending. I guess when he heard how asinine a system they are using, he didn't like it. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
