med administration

I am writing a course for safe med administration in an intermediate sanction facility in Texas. In this facility the residents come to the med room and take their meds. They are handed to them by the staff. They are required to take a safe med admin course every year. I teach for a community college and am developing this course. I am an RN, MSN, but have never given meds in a jail.

I want to show a video or something to make it better than just listening to me talk. Its an online course. Anyone know of any sites I can get a video or something to embed in a power point?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    You could try this site: Training for Corrections Professionals | National Institute of Corrections

    I am not sure any would be out there prison specific. The prison systems do not have video of things such as this due to security. You could ask the Warden in TX or another major state i.e. Washington to if they have any training videos such as this or contact Corizon which is a private healthcare company they do have training videos however they are propriety in nature and I cannot provide you with this.

    Lastly if you are looking at just the medication administration and not the safety aspect of this in the prison system then I would go to Utube Google safety medication administration videos and up will pop multiple medication administration videos.
