what does it mean to be "provisionally accepted" into the Long Beach City college?

HI everyone,

Long Beach City college (LBCC) sent me a letter yesterday that said that I am "provisionally accepted" into the ADN pgram for Fall 2011. The program schedules me to attend a mandatory Advisement Session #1 on April 1.

I know that I have to pass the TEAS 4.0 test, have a background check, and get the vacinations that they require. I am nervous because what if I did all of this, and the school still won't accept me. I was reading a thread from a student who applied to Golden West College (GWC) nursing program and got accepted into the program through the lottery system, but in the end, she did not get in after she passed the TEAS and did all the things that the school required.

I am nervous because what if LBCC is similar to GWC? Today is Sunday and the school is closed so I can't call the school to ask them about what it means by "provisionally accepted" mean. I am so nervous to the point where I can't study for my Anatomy lab exam tomorrow :(

Has any LBCC nursing program students gone through the application process? Can you tell me what the school mean by "provisionally accepted" mean?

Also, I took the TEAS 4.0 test on January 25, 2010 which is a year ago and had a 78%. Do you know if LBCC will accept this date? what is the passing score for TEAS at LBCC?

Hi karen, i too got this letter to start fall 2011 looks like we will be in the same class. provisionally means that you must pass the TEAS test which i know you said you have already taken but i believe it only last for a year so they may require you to take it again because it is expired now. You must also clear a background check and physical and attend all the mandatory meetings such as the one on April 1st. Dont worry as long as you pass through all these you are ready to go in August! HI!!

I asked the Program director (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST NAMES ON THE PUBLIC BOARDS) and she said that the school accepts my TEAS test from last year, so I am not too concerned about that any more.
