Has anyone received a new "patch" or updated software that actually lets their 3.0 run faster, and that also fixed major software problems? We are supposed to be getting something this week from our vendor, I won't mention the name, and I'm hopeful the collective vendors have been up all these nights getting this thing right. Please telll me I'm in luck!

i think that is vendor specific... the lastest updated from CMS was released 10/28/10.

yes,I was referring to vendor changes, not CMS.

Our facility has received 2 software patches since Oct 1st. It has fixed some MAJOR glitches. But we keep finding more. :D

Got a fix that didn't hold. Was getting rejection error message 3752 (fatal) that my software triggered a CAT that CMS didn't think should be triggered. Softwares not playing nice with each other should both go to time out. Went away for four hours then came back. Also getting some creative "work-arounds" Hinky software! Bah!

We could all stop transmitting and mail them to CMS in huge cartons. REALLY huge trunks of printed MDS's. This seems unsustainable.........

i worked with several software and each one received several patches already. one software has not been able to resolve the issue of CAT logic up to this point and I was told it will take a while.

Your software company is correct. If you look at Appendix H on the RAI Manual for NQ (nursing quarterly), Section F is not included. Only Section S and the RUG scoring (which is in Section Z) are "State" specific.

Of course I'm now at home when you're asking this, so I don't have my software or an MDS in front of me.

I'm in Illinois but now this has me stumped. I believe we've been entering Sect. F on a Quarterly. I know it's not included on the discharges. Our interviewer does Sect. F on everyone on our MDS calendar.

I don't know about Illinois, but in Kansas, we do not have Section F on our quarterly assessments. But when I'm doing the interviews, I do Section F for all MDSs only because it lets me keep up with their preferences and it's quicker just to do it that to decide each time if I need it.

Section F is not on a quarterly anywhere, or on a discharge. Only comprehensive assessments!

According to our regional consultant, Illinois DOES require a section F on all assessments, not just comprehensives. It was causing us to have rejections because our software system didn't include it until the last patch.
